DIRECT AID PROGRAM (DAP) PROJECTS FUNDED IN 2008-2009


Child Welfare Association In Rachaya – DAP funded the purchase of an electricity generator to power equipment in the Association’s medical centre, which provides basic health care in paediatrics, obstetrics, optometry, dentistry and other fields.

Father Andeweg Institute for the Deaf – Over 70 hearing-impaired children are enrolled at this institute, which also provides services to other hearing-impaired members of the community. DAP funded the purchase of a hearing aid analyser, used to monitor the performance of hearing aids over time and to ensure their correct adjustment.

Cooperative Association of Women of Kfardebian – DAP funded the purchase of a food separator and a bottle capper for use in processing local crops to produce organic food items in accordance with international standards. The Association aims to improve the livelihoods of women in the village.

IRAP (Institue de Reeducation Audio-Phonetique) – DAP funds were used to purchase three embroidery machines for training hearing-impaired youth in the production of handicrafts, thus contributing to their self-sufficiency and employment prospects.

Women’s Humanitarian Organisation (WHO) – WHO assists marginalised groups in the Bourj El Barajneh Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut through a variety of education and health programs. DAP funded the purchase of wheelchairs, walkers and water mattresses to improve the mobility and comfort of elderly Palestinians.

The Developing Agricultural Cooperative for Developing Olives and the Production of Olive Oil – DAP assisted in the upgrade of this olive oil mill by purchasing a new hammer crusher to meet the best standards of safety and production. Over 270 farmers benefit from the Cooperative’s olive mill.
