AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY SUPPORTS COMPUTER LAB AND PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT IN JOUNIEH AND HARET SAKHR
Australia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Lex Bartlem, visited Paradis D’Enfants schools in Jounieh and Haret Sakhr, funded through the Australian Embassy’s Direct Aid Program. The Embassy contributed USD14,973 for the purchase of computers, computer furniture and playground equipment.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Chairman of the Frem Foundation and the Vice President of the Municipality of Jounieh.
Mr Bartlem commended Paradis D’Enfants for its efforts to provide education to underprivileged children.
“Investment in children is an investment in the future,” Mr Bartlem said.
The Australian Embassy’s Direct Aid Program targets projects that require a small injection of funds but have a significant impact on the lives of underprivileged people. Over seventy communities have benefited from the program since 2004.
